Women-focused community gaming platform the*gamehers and online crypto betting platform Thunderpick announced this week that they will collaborate on a Counter-Strike 2 wildcard tournament for “femme-led teams,” called the*gamehers Cup. According to a release, winners of this wildcard tournament will earn a chance to compete in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 North American Qualifiers and the chance to participate in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, which features a $1M USD total prize pool.
Teams have already been selected to compete: FlyQuest Red, Shimmer, Karma, and Limitless Angels. The format will be single elimination, consisting of three total matches, two semifinal matches, and one final. The prize pool totals $5K—first-place takes home $3.5K, while second place earns $1.5K.
The tournament will be streamed live on Twitch, and at MomoCon 2024 on May 26 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. ET.
Thunderpick began its partnership with the*gamehers in January.
