Tournament organizer and DreamHack owner ESL FACEIT Group announced Tuesday that automaker Porsche has been named the “exclusive automotive partner” of the Overwatch Championship Series Major (OWCS Major) at DreamHack Dallas.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but this partnership marks Porsche’s first major deal with an esports tournament operator, and a bit of an expansion of its existing partnership with Overwatch 2. The automaker also has an ongoing partnership with GameSquare-owned division FaZe Clan.
Under the terms of this new deal, Porsche will present the competition’s “Most Valuable Player” a special edition Porsche watch. In addition, Porsche will be part of an on-site activation where fans can meet the MVP for “photos and autographs,” and get a first look at the new all-electric Macan after the Grand Finale. Attendees will also get access to custom content inspired by Porsche’s new all-electric Macan and the new Legendary skins for D.Va.
DreamHack Dallas takes place May 31 – June 2, at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. Badges for the event start at $35 USD for a single day and $99 for three-day access, with OWCS add-ons to secure seating for the event starting at $29. Pricing details can be found at dreamhack.com.
DreamHack events are owned and operated by ESL FACEIT Group, which is a division of Savvy Games Group – a gaming company owned by the Saudi government-controlled sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund. Saudi Arabia’s leader, HRH Crown Prince MBS, is the chairman of Savvy Games Group.
