GIANTX renews its partnership for another year with banking company HSBC UK for another year

International esports organization GIANTX has renewed its partnership with banking and financial services provider, HSBC UK.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but like last year’s partnership, the duration appears to be a one-year term.

In year two of this partnership, HSBC UK will continue to serve as the organization’s “official financial services partner,” with a focus on “improving the financial health of 18-34-year-olds across the UK.”

The partnership is focused on Gen Z fans, with plans to build activities and activations around GIANTX’s competitive esports players and gaming content creators to expose the community to financial education and (of course) the company’s banking tools and products.

“We’re thrilled to be renewing our partnership with GIANTX,” Luke Harper, head of partnerships at HSBC UK, said in a release. “At HSBC UK we’re passionate about working with our partners to help young people and entrepreneurs build financial skills and make the most of their money. GX can help us to achieve that goal.”

The partnership is part of what HSBC UK calls a “longstanding commitment to helping people build their financial health.” The company claims that in 2023 it “helped more than 645,000 children and young people build financial skills through their partnerships and the HSBC UK Education Network.” HSBC UK also claims that it serves “more than 14.75M customers across the UK, and is supported by 24,000 colleagues.”

GIANTX is the result of a merger between Giants Gaming and EXCEL Esports that took place in December 2023. The organization currently fields teams in League of Legends EMEA Championships (LEC), Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), Superliga Spain ERL (LoL), and VCT Game Changers.

In addition to its relationship with HSBC UK, GIANTX has partnerships with EE, Opel, KitKat, Diesel, Maggi Fusian, Hot Wheels, and PC Specialist, among others.
