Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) and esports performance company FITGMR announced Wednesday that they have partnered to work together on esports education initiatives within the city.
Financial terms of this partnership were not disclosed.
This new partnership will see FITGMR’s App and Team Dashboard, which will help students to learn and track behavior in “FITGMR’s Five Pillars of Health,” which includes “physical maintenance, mental conditioning, lifestyle, sleep, and nutrition.” MPS and FITGMR will also collaborate on “curated events” that combine gaming competitions and education.
“Sponsorship and grant funding are also key focuses of this initiative in order to bolster and enhance the esports programs offered within the Minneapolis Public Schools,” according to a release, though specific details on these aspects of the partnership were not revealed as of this writing.
Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) serve students and families throughout Minneapolis, Minnesota (the largest city in the state), with more than 35,000 students attending schools within the system every day.
