Hong Kong-based esports organization Talon Esports announced Monday that it has partnered with web3 gaming ecosystem Planet Mojo.
Financial terms and duration of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new strategic partnership, Talon will provide feedback on Planet Mojo’s upcoming mobile autochess battle game, Mojo Melee. The organization will do this using what it calls its “deep knowledge of the regional gaming landscapes” in regions where it operates including Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, and more.
Talon will also playtest the game, provide feedback from a professional player perspective, help balance Mojo Melee’s ranked matchmaking system, and help the company to create competitions and tournaments in the future.
Finally, this collaboration will also create “exclusive events, giveaways, and community challenges” for Talon fans.
In case you are not familiar with it, Planet Mojo is an “interoperable web3 gaming ecosystem” created by veteran game developers who worked at LucasArts, Electronic Arts, and Activision, and is backed by Animoca Brands, Merit Circle, and other funds. The platform is built on top of Polygon.
Mojo Melee is currently available in beta on Android devices, and has been soft-launched on iOS in Canada, the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Talon Esports is a top esports organization in Asia, competing in such games as League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2, Rainbow 6 Siege, PUBG Mobile, and Arena of Valor.
