GGTech Entertainment announced via social media Tuesday that it has partnered with the Coca-Cola Company-owned brand Costa Coffee for UNIVERSITY Esports and GAMERGY events in Mexico.

Financial terms of this partnership were not disclosed.

Specific details on its partnership with Costa Coffee weren’t disclosed but the events will include brand activations, and both companies have worked together to create a custom map in Fortnite featuring the brand front-and-center.

“These initiatives help us connect with our consumers in a whole new way,” said Hugo Heredia, Costa Coffee GM for Mexico.

As the name might infer, UNIVERSITY Esports is a collegiate-level esports circuit with participation from more than 100K students in over 2,000 universities, in 26 countries spread across four continents—Europe, MENA (Middle East and North Africa), Latin America, and North America.

GAMERGY is a gaming and esports event that first launched in Spain and expanded to Mexico and Argentina in 2022.

Both are operated through GGTech, which also handles collegiate esports for League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics in North America through a deal with Riot Games.

The deal with Costa Coffee follows GGTech’s announcement earlier this month that it had signed a deal with gaming peripherals company Redragon Latinoamérica to serve as a partner for UNIVERSITY Esports Mexico.
