Former FACEIT and ESL esports events executives Roald Van Buuren and Jan Moerland announced the launch of a new London-based company called ELO Agency.

According to a release, the new firm aims to help game developers, esports teams, sports clubs, and other companies interested in the competitive gaming landscape by “offering comprehensive event management solutions designed to demystify and streamline the complex process of esports events planning and execution.”

“Esports events are an unparalleled platform for marketing, capable of showcasing products or games to a global audience,” said CEO and Founder Roald Van Buuren. “However, the intricacies involved in esports can often lead to challenges if not properly navigated. ELO Agency is here to guide our clients through every step, ensuring their ventures into esports are not just successful but also impactful. From crafting RFPs and sourcing the perfect partners to training staff and establishing operational frameworks, we’re here to make esports events a seamless and strategic extension of our clients’ brands.”

Roald Van Buuren spent more than a decade at UK-based tournament platform FACEIT as director of esports, VP of events,  and VP of marketing—he left the company in the summer of 2022 to launch London-based angel investment firm RVB Group Ltd. Van Buuren also spent more than three years at UK-based esports organization Fnatic as an editor, editor-in-chief, and general manager.

Jan Moerland comes from ESL FACEIT Group, where he spent more than a year as tournament manager. Prior to that, he spent more than two years as league operations manager at FACEIT. Over the years Moerland has worked for such companies as Kairos Media, Verasity, and from 2015 to 2020 he worked at ESL for the first time in multiple roles including league operator, senior league operator, head of league operations for Rainbow Six, in-game director, and senior community manager.

More details on the company’s approach to esports events and its related services can be found at www.eloagency.co.
