Hong Kong-based bankย HSBC One announced Thursday that it is collaborating with South Korean esports organization T1 and its top League of Legends player, Lee Sang-hyeok (Faker).
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the partnership, HSBC One has released a promotional video to tell Hong Kong consumers about the collaboration and to โpromote its innovative financial services.โ The deal is part of the bankโs aim at Millennials, who it describes as one of its โkey customer segments.โ
T1 and HSBC One will also host the HSBC One x T1 (League of One) party in September, with Faker in attendance to meet fans. Fans who register as a first-time HSBC One customer can enter a contest for a chance to win free tickets to meet members of T1 and Faker.
In addition to the HSBC One x T1 party in September, HSBC One has also launched a series of esports activities and promotional events for customers including contests revolving around visits to T1โs headquarters in Seoul, personal gameplay coaching from professional trainers, limited edition HSBC One x T1 merchandise, and more. Additionally, a large-scale OOH (out of home) campaign will launch in March aimed at Hong Kong citizens.
