Outlaws Entertainment announced Thursday that professional Fortnite player Davis “Ceice” McClellan has joined the organization as its first first “creative athlete.”
Financial terms of this signing were not disclosed.
McClellan is one of the best Fortnite players in the world, but according to the release Outlaws signed the star player because of his “on-camera, on-stream, and on-court talent.” McClellan will be representing the company for the first time in competition at DreamHack Atlanta this weekend.
McClellan, who started his gaming journey playing Counter-Strike and Minecraft, has earned more than $1.4M USD in prize money over the past four years as a Fortnight player, and has amassed more than 1M social media followers.
“The Outlaws represent one of the most respected brands in esports and gaming in terms of its commitment to winning and entertaining its fans, so I am pretty stoked to join this organization and carry that tradition forward,” McClellan said in a release. “Winning is always my goal, but it’s also sharing my journey with my fans through the highs and lows. It’s time to get to work.”
Outlaws Entertainment is the new name of the Beasley Media Group, the now-former home to the Overwatch League’s Houston Outlaws and Rocket League’s Team AXLE. Outlaws announced its departure from Overwatch League—along with every other team—last month. It also announced a change in focus to content creation.
Outlaws also revealed that esports stadium/entertainment company Glytch will serve as its presenting partner. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the terms of the deal, Glytch branding will appear on player jerseys. Both organizations will also collaborate on original content with Ceice and its talent roster, including Carlos Ivan, Tori, Majin, and SoDaisy.
