Jeddah, Saudi Arabia-based educational development service company Bunyan announced Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Singapore-based consulting firm ibMedia to establish what they jointly describe as an “industry-focused joint venture in the Saudi market,” with a focus on gaming and esports within the region.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The partnership will capitalize on the “surging interest in gaming within Saudi Arabia” to create educational programs in esports and gaming, and provide consulting services tailored to the region’s gaming scene.
“With the meteoric rise of the gaming sector, we are witnessing a huge demand from brands seeking vast amounts of talent to join the industry. Our goal is to equip this talent with the requisite knowledge and skill sets to succeed in this industry,” Frank Sliwka, CEO at ibMedia, said in a release.
It is unclear from the announcement just who these companies are targeting for their educational programs and what companies, organizations, and government officials (who are heavily involved in the scene through leadership and ownership positions) these consultancy services would be utilized for.
ibMedia owns a number of esports and gaming focused brands including M42 Entertainment, Esports Holidays, Esports Business Conference, Inside Games Asia, Inside Games Latam, and more. The company also works with event and conference organizers in Latin America and Europe.
