South Africa-based video game publisher Carry1st and Riot Games announced this week that they have partnered and will soon be launching local Valorant servers in the region.

Financial terms and the duration of this new partnership were not disclosed.

Carry1st said in a release that the new servers will go live on Aug. 31, and as part of the deal the company will run campaigns in cities throughout the region to promote the game and the new servers.

In addition, Carry1st will provide interactive experiences including an in-person promotional stop at Comic Con Africa from Sept. 22-25 in Johannesburg, where players can learn more about the game, take part in competitions, and participate in activations such as giveaways.

On a related note, it’s a big week for Valorant esports: Valorant Champions 2023 will take place in Los Angeles, beginning on Thursday (Aug. 24), with the Upper-Bracket Final & Lower-Bracket Semifinal (both best-of-three). On Friday (Aug. 25) a best-of-five of the tournament in the Lower-Bracket Final will take place, followed by the VALORANT Champions 2023 Grand Final on Saturday (Aug. 26).
