North American esports organization M80 announced Wednesday that it has hired Don “SyykoNT” Muir as its new vice president of esports. Muir joins the organization from Sentinels, where he served as the organization’s head coach of its Valorant team. Prior to that he worked at XSET in a similar role.
In this role, Muir will help M80 explore entering into other esports titles, and work closely with the organization’s Valorant roster.
Speaking of M80’s Valorant team, it will be heading to Brazil on June 30 for the Americas Valorant Challengers Ascension 2023 tournament, in an attempt to qualify for the 2024 and 2025 Valorant Champions Tour. M80 also competes in Rainbow Six: Siege, Street Fighter, and Rocket League.
M80, which launched earlier this year after former XSET co–founder Marco Mereu left the company, has picked up a number of other former employees this year including Zachary Azzara, who joined as creative director; and Nate Schanker, who joined as a co-founder and director of marketing.
