Brazilian esports organization FURIA announced Tuesday that it has launched a new facility in Malta as a central location to work from when it is competing in Europe. This expansion into Europe, which was announced recently during an ESL event in the country (ESL FACEIT Group’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition, ESL Pro League), will see the organization work with the support of the Maltese government for a 1,000 square meter (roughly 10,764 square feet) facility capable of housing FURIA teams when competing in the region.
This facility will be located in Mellieha, in the northern region of Malta, and will cost roughly 136.5K โฌ ($146.4K USD) for the first six months of operation. FURIA said in a release that the organization made the decision to put down some roots in Malta because it was more efficient to have a physical location in the region in Europe than relying on temporary housing solutions.
