Brazilian esports organization FURIA announced Tuesday that it has launched a new community-focused initiative called “FURIA Skate Club,” and signed Brazilian pro skater Lua Vicente as its official representative in the sport.
FURIA Skate Club will support a range of activities including supporting skaters, organizing events and improving local skate parks, developing the scene by bringing together partners for tournaments and initiatives focused on the sport, and much more. FURIA says that this new initiative will help local communities in Brazil and highlight that the organization is committed to being a “socio-cultural movement” that puts good back into the world.
Lua Vicente joins the FURIA Skate Club just as she makes her debut at the Skate World Championship in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates—an event that qualifies professional skaters for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
FURIA is no stranger to investing in sports and other activities that are outside the realm of esports; in the past it has invested in chess with pro player Krikor Mekhitarian, and poker with World Series of Poker (WSOP) winner André Akkari.
