Brazilian esports organization FURIA announced Monday a number of new hires as it moves towards expanding its global reach. The most notable hire is Brazilian esports journalist Victor Frascarelli, who will be in charge of leading global public relations efforts for the organization.
Prior to joining FURIA, Frascarelli worked at Esports Insider covering the business of esports in Brazil for nearly a year. Prior to that, he worked for The Esports Observer (and later Sports Business Journal), where he was part of the team that won the Esports Awards’ “Esports Coverage Platform of the Year” for two consecutive years. Frascarelli is one of the most well-known esports journalists residing in Brazil and working for international publications.Â
While he has spent the last several years working as a journalist, Frascarelli is no stranger to marketing and public relations; in the past he has worked for a number of companies in Brazil including Kinguin, Revelo, and Scaffold Education, among others.
Frascarelli joins new hires Pedro Trajano, who takes on the role of travel manager; and Giulia Tancredi, who joins as new facilities coordinator. Former FURIA PR Lead Mario Andrada will continue to work with the organization for special projects—he also runs his own agency, Andrada.comms agency, and is the former Nike (Brazil) communications director for emerging markets.
FURIA is already making inroads into international markets: In December it opened a new esports venue in Miami, Florida, called FURIA Wynwood. The space includes a PC area, LAN house, an area for purchasing FURIA merchandise, and a stage where members of the organization can broadcast matches and events.
