The Esports Advocate has learned that at least two employees from Los Angeles-based esports organization TSM have been let go including a video editor and a long-time producer at the company. As of this writing, It is unclear if these were just strategic cuts or part of a broader layoff at the company this week.
A TSM spokesperson declined to comment on this story.
One of the people let go on Tuesday is long-time producer Kevin Lee. For nearly five years, Lee managed a team of freelance video editors, writers, graphic designers, and other creatives to create content for TSM. In May of 2019, he was again promoted to a new role as producer, where he was in charge of all things related to content creation across the TSM ecosystem.
Dean Ver Tinio was also let go on Tuesday. Residing in the Philippines, Ver Tino worked remotely with TSM for a year-and-a-half as a full-time video editor and producer. You can see a sampling of his work here.
These cuts follow broader layoffs that occurred in July of 2022, where the company cut around 20 employees.
This is a developing story…
Editor’s note: This story was edited to remove some information about Kevin Lee, which was taken from his LinkedIn profile. Because creatives like Lee and Ver Tinio work behind the scenes on content (sometimes by choice), information about the scope of their work and responsibilities is often unavailable.
