Bengaluru, India-based tournament organizer and platform The Esports Club (TEC) announced Tuesday that it has raised $3M USD (INR 24.5 cr) in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Komlay Group and Sambavanath Group.
TEC said that it will use the new funding to expand its operations into the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and to develop a new esports ecosystem. TEA first stumbled onto this story through our colleagues at AFK Gaming.
This expansion of its operations will include hiring broadcast talent for these new regions, building out tournament offerings, hosting events, building a social media presence in these regions, working with local communities, and generally growing opportunities for players and talent in ME and SEA.
TEC was founded in 2019 by industry veterans Vamsi Krishna, Ishaan Arya, and Mansoor Ahmed to create a grassroots esports platform serving India and South Asian countries while also leveraging brands and IPs to generate revenue.
