GRID reveals Champion of Champions Season 2 Global Finals details

GRID Esports announced this week the format, schedule, and teams competing in the Champions of Champions Tour (CCT) Global Finals, an online Counter-Strike 2 competition taking place May 16-23.

Spread across eight days, the CCT Global Finals will feature 16 teams competing for a share of a total prize pool of $500K USD, with the first-place winner taking home $250K. GRID announced the first details on Champion of Champions Tour Season 2 on April 8.

The competition, which will be streamed live on Twitch, will feature four groups featuring four teams competing in single elimination, best-of-3 competitions (four matches per day) to whittle down the number to eight teams for the quarterfinals, with the finals being a best-of-5. Group Stage will take place May 16-20, with quarterfinals taking May 21, semifinals on May 22, and finals on May 23.

Group A will consist of SAW, Eternal Fire, Aurora, and Paravision; Group B will be ENCE, Gaimin Gladiators, GamerLegion, and Fnatic; Group C will be paiN, Team Liquid, OG Esports, and Amkal; and Group D will be composed of Astralis, MIBR, BetBoom, and BIG.

While GRID is hosting this competition, the company is better known for its esports data platform; it is the official platform for a number of top esports games including League of Legends, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG. It is also a data partner for Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2. It provides in-game telemetry data sourcing (GRID Game SDK), analytics, integrity, and distribution in competitive game titles for AAA publishers and independent game studios.
