Gen.G Esports acquires League of Legends player analytics platform YOUR.GG.

International esports organization Gen.G announced Thursday that it has acquired League of Legends-focused data analysis and networking platform YOUR.GG.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The organization said in a release that this acquisition will help to further enhance the Gen.G Global Academy experience for students and “expand their offering to players looking to improve their game to a professional level.”

Gen.G also said that the analytical and data-driven toolset it has acquired allows it to not only improve player skills through analytical data from the game, but also evaluate how players respond to “coaching and feedback.”

YOUR.GG will power both its pro team players and its academy students, and Gen.G sees this as an additional tool to “provide better insight into scouting for new talent,” according to a release.

“Over the last few years, we’ve been hard at work pioneering what is now the world’s largest esports academy. With over 10,000 students having gone through our curriculum, we see the clear need to develop better tools that gamers, coaches, and parents need to create the best gamers possible,” said Gen.G CEO Arnold Hur, in a release. “YOUR.GG’s best-in-class data, technology and analytics combined with millions of hours of our professional and academy student coaching will be able to unlock the next generations of esports tools that can help realize the true potential of every student and pro in our program.”

Gen.G also noted in its announcement that it will also be opening up a new academy building for Gen.G Global Academy that “will act as a hub for innovation and learning for esports and gaming education, equipped with the latest technologies to support our students’ growth and success in the competitive world of esports.”

Gen.G currently fields professional rosters in League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), sim racing through its Gen.G Mobil1 Racing & Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing Black Rocket League teams, Valorant, PUBG, PUBG Mobile, and NBA 2K24 through the Gen.G Tigers.
