GRID hires two new executives from esports and gaming

Gaming and esports data platform GRID announced Thursday that it has hired former 100 Thieves Director of Esports Analytics Tim “Magic” Sevenhuysen and former YouTube Gaming Strategic Partnership Manager – Games Publishers Julian Schwartz.

Sevenhuysen joins the company as its new senior business data consultant, while Schwartz takes on the role of vice president of business development. Sevenhuysen will focus on “supporting use of the GRID Data Portals by professional esports teams, while Schwartz will be charged with “unlocking new opportunities with GRID Game Developer Solutions and other verticals.”

Sevenhuysen is best known as the founder of OraclesElixir.com, a League of Legends esports stats platform, and an analyst on Riot Games’ LCS broadcasts. At 100 Thieves he helped the organization with player development evaluation, scouting talent, building analytics models powered by in-game data, and measuring scrim data, among other responsibilities.

Schwartz spent more than four years at YouTube Gaming, where he ironed partnerships with some of the biggest game publishers on the planet. Prior to that, he spent more than a year at PUBG Corporation as head of global esports business development & partnerships.

These new hires are part of GRID’s efforts to ramp up its work with major IP holders, much like it has already done with Ubisoft with the Rainbow Six Siege Data Portal (R6DP), the first data portal for Rainbow Six Siege Esports professional teams.
