PUBG Mobile Esports announced Tuesday that the 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Open Brazil—its first international tournament of the 2024 season—will officially kick off on March 4, with a main event taking place in São Paulo, Brazil, in April, and an overall prize pool of $500K USD.

The 2024 PMGO Brazil will feature an open qualifier, followed by an offline qualifier, prelims, and a Main Event taking place on April 5-7. Registration for the event opens on Feb. 19, alongside ticket sales for the April Main Event.

The 2024 PMGO BRAZIL will feature a multi-stage tournament ecosystem, starting with open qualifiers from March 4 – 10, with the top 32 teams from the Open Online Qualifier getting an invite to attend the Offline Qualifier Finals on location in Brazil, from March 28 – 30. The highest scoring teams will then progress to the PMGO Prelims, where they will meet directly invited Partnership Program teams to determine the eight squads that will progress to the PMGO Main Event. Those eight teams will join eight other teams, moving on to the in-person finals in São Paulo.

PUBG Mobile Esports said in a release that Brazil has been chosen as the host of 2024 PMGO due to its “strong competitive scene and vibrant esports culture, as well as the impressive performance of Brazilian teams in the 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship, such as third-place Alpha7 Esports.”

PUBG Mobile, PUBG, and its esports programs are owned and operated by Seoul, South Korea-based game developer and publisher Krafton. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is a version of the game specific to India and operated by Krafton India
