Major League Soccer (MLS) and EA SPORTS FC Pro announced details for the upcoming eMLS 2024 season on Tuesday, which includes a new competitive platform and the players for the 22 clubs that represent MLS clubs.
The eMLS 2024 season marks the debut of EA Sports FC 24 (the replacement for the FIFA series of games) as the exclusive platform for all eMLS matches. EA also revealed that the competitive calendar will feature two League Series events in February and March, respectively, concluding with the eMLS Cup on March 10 in Austin, Texas.
Former Canadian National Team and Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Tosaint “eightysvn” Ricketts will make his debut as the first former MLS player to compete in eMLS, and pro players will join the fray to represent MLS clubs including 2023 eMLS Cup champion Niklas “NR7” Raseck with St. Louis City SC, 2022 eMLS Cup champion Paulo “Paulo Neto” Neto (Brazil) with Atlanta United, João Afonso “JAFONSO” Vasconcelos (Portugal) with New England Revolution, and Olle “Ollelito” Arbin with New York City FC.

The eMLS League Series 1 will kick off the 2024 season on Feb. 16 with remote qualifiers, followed by the group stage on Feb. 17, and bracket final on Feb. 18 (total prize pool of $20K USD). eMLS League Series 2 will begin on March 1 with remote qualifiers, a group stage on March 2, and a bracket final on March 3 (total prize pool of $20K USD). The eMLS Cup will serve as season conclusion for the league and will take place in Austin, with the group stage on March 9 and the fan-facing live bracket final on March 10. The top two players within the eMLS Cup get direct bids to the FC Pro World Championship (total prize pool of $35K USD).
eMLS also revealed the 2024 season commentary crew, which includes Faizal Khamisa, play-by-play announcer and reigning Esports Awards Caster of the Year Dan Gaskin, and commentator Mike Labelle. Finally, EA noted that the 2024 season will be supported by partners TikTok, DoorDash, EA SPORTS, and Avant.
