ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and mobile game developer Supercell announced Thursday an expanded partnership to make the Snapdragon Pro Series Powered by Samsung Galaxy the official operator of the Brawl Stars Championship, the company’s esports program dedicated to its 3v3 multiplayer battle royale game.
Financial terms of this deal were not disclosed.
According to a release, the 2024 circuit will feature up to USD $2M USD in prizes, with Supercell planning to implement a crowdfunding component (similar to what Valve does for Dota 2) for November’s Brawl Stars World Finals. Each month, “millions of players and thousands of teams across five global regions” will compete for placement in the Brawl Stars World Finals.
The Brawl Stars Championship will be played out in more than 190 countries and territories through five regional leagues: Asia-Pacific; Europe, Middle East, and Africa; North America; South America; and the Chinese Mainland. APAC, EMEA, and North and South America will compete in “online Monthly Qualifiers and Monthly Finals,” providing teams with a pathway to the World Finals alongside an offline last-chance qualifier (LCQ) in late August. Details of the location of the LCQ and World Finals will be revealed at a later date.

This expanded partnership builds on the relationship between EFG and Supercell; Brawl Stars was part of the inaugural season of the Snapdragon Pro Series and its first “Mobile Masters title,” with the game’s finals hosted at DreamHack Japan in May 2023, and awarding a total prize pool of USD $200K.
ESL FACEIT Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Savvy Games Group, which is in turn owned by the Saudi Arabian government’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund. EFG is home to tournament organizer ESL, tournament platform FACEIT, esports and gaming festival company DreamHack, esports production company Esports Engine, and esports and gaming analytics firm Vindex.
