Publicly traded esports and gaming company GameSquare Holdings announced Thursday the launch of a new division called Moonlight Studios. The new division—which has been operating in stealth mode over the last six months, according to GameSquare—will create game content for brands inside such titles as Fortnite, Roblox, and Grand Theft Auto.

Moonlight Studios will tap into GameSquare’s creative agency Zoned and will be led by former professional Fortnite player Kyle “Kazify/Kaz” Rapozo. The division will also rely on third-party development partners from time to time, such as Alliance Studios.

The launch of this new studio focusing on the development of games and game content follows what other esports organizations have shifted to over the last couple of years including 100 Thieves (which is developing a full-fledged gaming property and game content in Fortnite), and Misfits Gaming Group, who launched a new Roblox-focused game studio called Pixel Playground—co-founded by Jacobs and Roblox content creator Kreekcraft.

This new studio joins GameSquare’s other operations including esports organization Complexity Gaming, digital media company GCN, gaming and lifestyle marketing agency Cut+Sew (Zoned), UK-based esports talent agency Code Red Esports Ltd., live streaming analytics company Stream Hatchet, social influencer marketing platform Sideqik, creative production studio Fourth Frame Studios, merchandising company Mission Supply, and programmatic advertising and media distribution company Frankly Media.

The company is also working through the acquisition of Los Angeles-based esports and gaming company FaZe Clan, with shareholders of both companies voting to approve the transaction in February.
