Riot Games League of Legends Executive Producer Jeremy “Brightmoon” Lee announced Monday on LinkedIn and in a new developer video for the game that he will step down from the role. The story first appeared on PC Gamer.
Lee joined Riot Games in September of 2015 from Microsoft Studios, where he served as the executive producer on Microsoft’s HoloLens project. Prior to that, spent nearly seven years at Double Helix Games (now part of Amazon Game Studios) as development director, and as a production lead for educational games company Hice Games.
Lee said in the latest developer video that, while he is stepping down from the new role, he will still be working at Riot in a new capacity somewhere else and that a new executive producer will be announced in the coming months.
“This year’s been a bit of a whirlwind. The progress we’ve made as a team and, most importantly, what we’ve been able to deliver for you has been so rewarding. And with that, I’ve decided it’s the right time to step away from my current role. I’ll be passing the torch to a new executive producer in the coming months.”
On LinkedIn, Lee added:
“After 8 amazing years on League of Legends, it’s time for me to pass the torch to a new Executive Producer. It’s really important to me to spend time finding and onboarding the right EP and not just up and leaving, which is why I’m telling everyone early about this change. We’ll be posting the job description shortly and I’d love to hear from anyone who loves League (you don’t have to be a Diamond player or anything!) and has led large scale game dev teams (preferably with live service).”
