ESL FACEIT Group subsidiary DreamHack announced on Tuesday that its plans to run its gaming festival in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2024. DreamHack Stockholm is tentatively set to take place Nov. 22-24, 2024, at the Stockholmsmässan. Elgiganten will serve as the official presenting partner.

Other details, such as what esports official and grassroots competitions will take place there, as well as additional partners, are to be announced at a later date. Like other DreamHack events, DreamHack Stockholm will feature esports competitions, live music events, collaborations with Swedish tech partners, film nights, meet-and-greets with content creators and influencers, and more.

“We are excited to host DreamHack Stockholm at Stockholmsmässan in November next year,” said Christian Clemens CEO at Stockholmsmässan, in a release. “To host a festival that sparks the interest of young people in gaming and esports activities is significant and it is a fantastic opportunity to welcome not only those who already are interested in gaming but also to welcome and create interests for new participants. Since esports and gaming as live events are growing in Sweden and globally, we are happy to welcome such a festival to Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan.”

In that same release, DreamHack emphasized that, while Stockholm will be a new festival stop in Sweden, its event in Jönköping will continue to serve as the location for DreamHack Summer, which takes place June 14-16. Tickets for DreamHack Stockholm are set to go on sale on March 26, 2024.

DreamHack is the gaming festival division of ESL FACEIT Group, which is owned by Savvy Games Group. The Savvy Games Group is in turn owned by the Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Saudi Arabian leader Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), serves as the chairman of Savvy Games Group.
