Shopify Rebellion has acquired Version1’s Valorant Game Changers team—who are set to compete in the Valorant Champions Tour: Game Changers Championship starting on Nov. 28, against such teams as Evil Geniuses, BBL Queens, G2 Gozens, Team Liquid Brazil, KRÜ Blaze, Team SMG, and Chao Hui EDG.
We do not now know how much Shopify Rebellion paid for the team, and we also assume that team will not play under Version1 banner.
TEA has reached out to Version1 and Shopify Rebellion for further comment and will update this story as more information becomes available.
The acquisition of the Version1 team follows Shopify Rebellion’s purchase of TSM’s League of Legends Championship (LCS) slot in September for an estimated $20M USD.
TEA confirmed in early October that Version1 has been in ongoing talks with G2 Esports about a possible merger or acquisition of the organization for several months and the this conversation is still ongoing.
