UK-based esports organization Tundra Esports announced Monday that the Ballantine’s Scotch whisky has been named its official spirit partner during the upcoming Dota 2 The International 2023.

Financial terms of this new partnership were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the deal, Ballantine’s makes its debut on Tundra’s new official jersey for The International, which goes on sale on Oct. 6. In addition to jersey placement, Tundra and Ballantine’s will work together to create a “bespoke behind-the-scenes content” series that focuses on the Dota 2 team members.

Tundra Esports’ Dota 2 team are the reigning World champions, winning The International in 2022, and is currently a DPC WEU Tour 3 top team. TI begins Oct.12 and runs through Oct. 29.

This is the first team-related partnership for Ballantine’s, but not its first foray into esports;  earlier this year it announced a partnership with tournament operator BLAST for the 10 year anniversary of CS:GO Majors in Paris.

Tundra Esports currently competes in Dota 2, Rocket League, and Fortnite. Earlier this year it announced partnerships with betting company Winline and streamer management and monetization platform Streamcoi.
