Dignitas and women’s gaming broadcast production platform Raidiant owner New Meta Entertainment recently announced a new partnership with mental health charity Ruderman Family Foundation that names the organization as its official mental health partner.
Under the terms of this new deal, the foundation is providing a grant (amount not disclosed) to Dignitas to “enhance an inclusive and supportive environment for gaming fans and esports professionals everywhere,” according to a release.
The organizations will also collaborate on a series of fan-focused digital activations featuring Dignitas talent including professional Fortnite player Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, Fortnite Steamer Shaun “AussieAntics” Cochrane, and others. The foundation will also collaborate with Raidiant leadership on programming within an upcoming Raidiant Challengers Circuit tournament.
Finally, this new partnership will be highlighted at TwitchCon Las Vegas on Oct. 21, through a panel with NME talent and others such as Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, Emmalee “EMUHLEET” Garrido, and Joey “Keeoh” Winkler. The panel will focus on mental health, gaming, and other important topics. In addition, NME and the foundation will create an event space at TwitchCon for talent and fans to find mental health resources.
This a major first step for Ruderman Family Foundation into gaming and esports. The foundation’s mission is to end the stigma associated with mental health across a variety of different sectors including education, sports, and entertainment.
