Chinese game publisher Tencent Holdings announced that it has signed a partnership deal with China Central Television (CCTV), becoming the special broadcasting rights holder of Hangzhou Asian Games esports titles from Sept. 23 – Oct. 8. Viewers will also be able to watch the competitions through Tencent Video, Tencent Sports, Tencent News, WeChat, and Huya. Interestingly, DouYu was not included in this deal.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

The Hangzhou Asian Games will feature seven esports titles, including Valve’s Dota 2, Capcom’s Street Fighter V, Electronic Soul’s Dream Three Kingdom, and four Tencent-related titles including League of Legends, Honor of Kings, Peacekeeper Elite, and FIFA Online 4.

Sources close to Tencent told The Esports Advocate that live audiences could still watch non-Tencent-related esports titles like Dota 2 on Huya through this partnership.
