Online auto retailer Carvana announced a one-year partnership with esports organization NRG Esports to host a Rocket League competition called the The Carvana | NRG Combine.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
The Carvana | NRG Combine is being facilitated by NRG in conjunction with the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF).
The competition will invite student esports athletes ages 18+ to compete for a one-year content creator contract from Carvana and NRG, in addition to a grand prize of $10K USD. Details on just how much this creator contract is valued at were not disclosed. To get started applicants can create a video and post it on Twitter, TikTok or YouTube with the hashtag #CarvanaNRGCombine by Oct. 5, with NRG content creators selecting the best of the best to move on in the competition. More details on how this process will work can be found in this YouTube video.Â
Starting Nov. 11, the Carvana | NRG Combine will take over NRG Castle in downtown Los Angeles and will include top players and aspiring esports professionals engaging in friendly competition.Â
It will also serve as a boot camp for esports business, with participants getting the opportunity to learn insights from “industry experts about marketing strategies, best practices, and tips on honing their craft,” according to a release. Student athletes will also meet Rocket League player Musty and other NRG team members.Â
