The Esports Advocate has learned that at least two employees have been let go this week at esports and gaming lifestyle company XSET. Both employees worked in the content production department.
TEA reached out to XSET for comment and further details and will update this story should more information become available.
From what we understand, those employees were told that the department was being streamlined and would have a leaner budget, which was why these cuts were made. As far as we know, these are the first staff reductions that have been made at XSET this year.
This news follows an announcement on Thursday that XSET had signed a new sponsorship deal with esports venue company Glytch.
On a semi-related note, XSET Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer Clinton Sparks quietly left the company for unknown reasons on May 12.
