Publicly-traded mobile esports and social platform company Mobile Global Esports (NASDAQ:MGAM) announced Tuesday that it has hired Devin Murphy as its new director of strategic development. Murphy will help the company “establish best practices in the Indian university esports field,” according to a release.
Murphy most recently worked at Riot Games where he spent more than eight years as a full time employee and a contractor in various roles related to League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) in North America including event lead, senior esports event coordinator, and esports event coordinator. Murphy spent two of those years as a contractor in similar roles.
Murphy joins the publicly-traded company at a tumultuous time, as it faces a Nasdaq delisting following a deficiency warning in April. See our extensive report from Tobias Seck on the company’s challenges here.
