KOI Esports and London Royal Ravens owner Infinite Reality announced the appointment of François Ribeiro as CEO of its European division. Ribeiro brings his decades of experience as  a sports and entertainment executive to the metaverse, entertainment, Web3 company.

According to a release, Ribeiro is a strong believer in using virtual reality to diversify and expand revenue streams for event organizers “by monetizing remote digital experiences of real-life events, [and] catering to fans unable to attend physically.” He’ll help find opportunities that work with this philosophy and leverage his knowledge of sports and fan engagement to move IR into new directions beyond its current focus on gamified experiences and content.

Prior to joining IR,  Ribeiro worked at Discovery in Paris, France, as head of Eurosport events and later SVP of Discovery Sports for more than nine years. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Warner Bros. Discovery-owned sporting network Eurosport as commercial director and director of operations.

Ribeiro also worked at Fédération Française du Sport Automobile as a commercial director for more than five years and FIA World Rally Championship for three years.
