New Delhi, India-based esports organization Revenant Esports announced Monday that popular action film star Tiger Shroff has made an undisclosed “strategic investment in the company. A representative for Revenant declined to give The Esports Advocate a specific dollar amount to the investment.
Revenant said in a release that this latest funding will be used to grow its “esports rosters, content creators, and bootcamp infrastructure,” and to grow its global footprint.
Shroff is a big fan of video games, esports, and his top grossing films tend to be aimed at millennial and Gen Z audiences. He has starred in such hit films as action comedy A Flying Jatt, action series Baaghi, and WAR, among other domestic box office hits.
Revenant currently fields teams in Valorant, Battlegrounds Mobile India, Pokémon Unite, Call of Duty Mobile, Apex Legends, and Brawl Stars. Its current sponsors include AMD, PUMA, CORSAIR, and CYBEART.
Last week the organization announced that it signed three of the most popular content creators in India: Emperor Plays, Bitty, and Ayush.
