Team Liquid-owned publication Liquipedia announced Tuesday that it is adding a wiki dedicated to the sport of Formula One. The Formula One wiki will include “detailed Grand Prix results, circuit information, driver and constructor biographies, and other pertinent sporting data,” according to a release. Once the Formula 1 wiki is “fully realized,” Liquipedia said in a release that it plans to add Formula 2, Formula 3, and Formula E content sometime in the future, and may consider adding other motorsports and traditional sports content.
The addition marks the first time in the publication’s history that a non-esports topic has been given a dedicated space. In a release, the publication said that this move is part of an overall plan to diversify the kinds of content it creates to reach a broader audience.
Liquipedia currently covers 21 esports titles with dedicated wikis including League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, Rocket League, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, PUBG, Super Smash Bros., StarCraft II, StarCraft: Brood War, Age of Empires, Warcraft III, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Artifact, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Brawl Stars, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Liquipedia claims that over the last 12 months it has seen over 62M unique global visitors and 1B pageviews.
