Publicly-traded esports and gaming lifestyle company FaZe Clan announced Thursday that it has promoted Erik Anderson as its new president. Anderson has been with FaZe Clan for more than seven years serving in the role of VP, head of esports. He replaces outgoing President and Chief Operating Officer Zach Katz, who will officially exit on May 31.
According to an 8-K SEC filing, Katz resigned from the company on May 11 and that he will enter into a separation agreement prior to his official departure date. The filing also notes that the exit was an amicable one:
“On May 11, 2023, Zach Katz resigned from his position as President and Chief Operating Officer of FaZe Holdings Inc. (“Company”), effective May 31, 2023. Mr. Katz’s resignation did not arise from any disagreement on any matter relating to the operations, policies, or practices of the Company. In connection with Mr. Katz’s resignation, the Company and Mr. Katz intend to enter into a separation agreement prior to his departure from the Company.”
FaZe Clan also announced that Christoph Pachler, the current chief financial officer, has been appointed to an additional role as chief operating officer.
Commenting on Anderson’s promotion on social media Thursday, current CEO Lee Trink said: “Eight years ago Erik introduced me to the world of gaming and esports and today I had the pleasure of announcing him as the President of FaZe Clan. Looking forward to continuing building together.”
