Brazilian esports organization FURIA announced Wednesday that it has hired two new executives to shore up its human resources and diversity and inclusion departments. The company has hired Patricia Lima as its new diversity and inclusion specialist and Thales Moura as its new head of talent.
FURIA said in a release that these hires represent its “commitment to social transformation and our drive as a socio-cultural movement, beyond an esports organization.”
Lima spent nearly a year working at Brazilian entertainment company Coração da Selva as lead of DEI. Prior to joining that company she worked at software developer Plurie BR in a similar role for more than a year. In her new role at FURIA, Lima will spearhead diversity and inclusion initiatives and create a friendly environment that welcomes all people, “regardless of their background, sexuality, gender identity, abilities, or any other personal characteristics.”
Moura has more than 10 years of experience in partnerships that connect content creators with brands and companies such as ESPN, Twitter, Spotify, and LinkedIn, among others. In his new role he’ll work with content creators and brands to build relationships and partnerships that create awareness and opportunities for FURIA.
FURIA currently fields teams in Apex Legends, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, and Valorant. It also supports professional chess and poker players.
