Southeast Asian esports organization Talon Esports announced Tuesday that it has signed a deal with gambling company 1XBET to sponsor its Dota 2 team.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Talon did not disclose just what this deal entails beyond 1XBET branding appearing on social media and its Dota 2 team’s jerseys.

1XBET currently sponsors a number of esports organizations including MIBR, OG, Tundra, and Team Spirit, and football clubs such as FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

1XBET is a 1online gambling company, with a Curaçao egaming license. Companies that operate solely with such a license are often referred to as “gray market,” as it only holds one license in Curaçao, and the companies who hold them typically are in charge of their own compliance in other jurisdictions.

1XBET has had its fair share of controversy this year as detailed in this report from Dot Esports.
