Long-Time OG Esports CEO JMR Luna Steps Down

While no specific reason was given, the exit appears to be amicable.

European esports organization OG Esports announced on Saturday that long-time CEO JMR Luna has stepped down from the role, effective immediately. Luna joined the company in May of 2020 after working at Immortals and Evil Geniuses as a content lead. Prior to that Luna worked as a cinematographer, director, and producer for several studios in Europe and the united States.

The company said in a statement on Saturday:

OG Esports is announcing that JMR Luna has stepped down as CEO. This decision was upon after many months of discussions and considerations from all parties.

From everyone here at OG Esports we would like to express our appreciation for what we have achieved during these last few years and wish him the best for his future.

With the support of the existing leadership team, as well as out two anchors, Notail and Ceb, we will continue to build on the company’s vision and drive the core values of OG Esports into its next phase of growth. We are very excited for 2023 and what it holds for our competitive teams, communities, and partners. We will continue to expand on our successes such as the OG Monkey Business Show while working on bringing new content and activations to our fans.

Luna responded with the following statement:

Thank you Johan and Seb for entrusting me with something so precious, and for supporting my ideas. I hope I made you proud! We achieved a lot of growth and great objectives during the last 2.5+ years, and together we wrote another great chapter of this organization.

Thank you to all the staff, partners, and everyone that helped us during this journey. We are all amazing and it was truly and honor working with all of you. I learned so much from you all, your passion and kindness inspired me.

And of course,the biggest thank you to all the fans. We couldn’t do anything without your constant love and support! Since the day I joined the organization you all embraced me and supported me,, and it meant a lot to me. It made me work hard every day and it pushed me to be better.

Once you are part of the OG Family, you are always a part of the OG Family. See you all around.

The mutual parting of company appears to be an amicable one.

OG Esports is one of the best-performing Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive organizations in the world and holds the honor of being the only team to ever be crowned World Dota 2 Champions twice.
