Sweden-based esports organization Alliance announced Thursday that broadband service provider Tele2 has signed on as its latest sponsor.
Financial terms for the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new deal, Tele2 officially becomes the first main sponsor of Alliance’s Counter-Strike 2 team. In turn, Alliance will promote Tele2 and its services through marketing efforts on social media and platforms where it deploys content, and with placement on team jerseys.
Tele2 will support the CS2 team financially and work with the organization to create “more opportunities for young Swedish esports players to break through” to the professional level.
“This collaboration with Tele2 is a monumental moment for Alliance,” says Jonathan Berg, CEO and co-owner of Alliance. “Having a prestigious and influential company like Tele2 as our sponsor not only underlines the growth and potential in Swedish esports, but also reinforces our commitment to supporting and developing local talent. This also means a lot to me personally as I have been a customer of Tele2 for over a decade, and I am proud to cooperate with a company that I have looked up to as a Swede and a gamer.”
Tele2 joins other Alliance sponsors and partners including Socios.com, Razer, Void Gaming, Yoodo, and Twitch.
