Hong Kong-based esports organization Talon Esports announced Monday that it has partnered with the developers of Apeiron, a blockchain-based “god game.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the deal, Talon will provide developers with gaming and esports advice to improve the game. Talon and Apeiron also plan to co-host tournaments, with the goal of “extending Apeiron’s reach into esports communities worldwide.” The first tournament will be held on Feb. 23, with further details to be announced. There are also plans to begin testing mobile PvP arena components of the game on Feb. 1.

Apeiron is described as a “casual competitive MOBA that includes elements of the classic god game as well as RTS [real-time strategy]  and TCG [trading card game] gameplay, all based on the Ronin blockchain,” according to a release. It also includes “roguelike elements” and has some features that tie into being a blockchain-based game such as offering NFTs.

Apeiron is currently available on the Epic Games Store.

Apeiron joins other Talon partners including 1XBET, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), AfreecaTV, SteelSeries, Secretlab, AMD, Yesports, G-BEAT, Carnival, and Chef Cares, among others. The organization also competes in a number of games including PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, Pokemon Unite, Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 7, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant. It also owns Talon Studios, which “aims to connect esports with creative initiatives in Web 3.0.”
