The Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation announced this week that it is working with Florida-based esports and gaming company Misfits Gaming to support its Go Pink Challenge, which helps support patients fighting breast cancer diagnosis.

Misfit Gaming content creators will host a Charity Stream-a-thon from Sept. 18-30,  where they will entertain viewers and provide a donation link to the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation charity drive so that fans can contribute directly to the cause. The Misfits charity drive will feature top content creators such as Snifferish, Inviicta, LunchTime, MrsChimChim, SurfnBoy, Shaya, and Wanted.

“We’re honored to support our partners, Baptist Health, in giving back to the local community and supporting such a great cause like the Go Pink Challenge,” said Justin Stefanovic, senior VP at Misfits Gaming Group, in a release. “We love what the Go Pink Challenge stands for with resiliency, courage, and that we’re all in this together.”

The Go Pink Challenge is a year-long fundraising campaign that helps hospitals raise money to purchase important technology/equipment that will allow advanced care for patients. For Boca Raton Regional Hospital, this allows them to implement programs and services to aid patients in their cancer diagnosis, according to a release.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society, and is the second leading cause of death from cancer among women, behind lung cancer. Breastcancer.org notes that About 13% (about 1 in 8) of U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer in the course of their life. Most important of all, early detection of cancer saves lives.
