DoorDash Battle of the Brands Returns to PAX West

Food delivery service DoorDash announced Wednesday the return of Battle of the Brands, a Fortnite competition that pairs popular restaurant brands with professional players and content creators. In its third season, the competition will take place at PAX West (Penny Arcade Expo) beginning Saturday, Sept. 2, and will “eight hours of Fortnite matches including special Creative islands, team, and solo matches,” according to a release.

Brands taking part in the event include Burger King, Del Taco, Jack in the Box, KFC, Little Caesars, McDonald’s, Popeyes, and Taco Bell. Chris Puckett will serve as host for the event, while casters Rome and dreamcrazzy will provide color commentary. During Battle of the Brands, DoorDash will also be giving away $5K USD in gift cards to fans.

Online qualifiers begin Aug. 18, with streamers playing Fortnite on their respective channels and competing against each other throughout the month. The head-to-head, in-person competitions will begin on Sept. 2, with a live final taking place Sept. 3. The finals will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT on Sept. 3, with the eight streamers seeded based on their Sept. 2 performance. The top six seeded competitors advance to the final knockout round, where they’ll compete for part of the $25K prize pool.

PAX West will take place at Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, from Sept. 1-4.
