Ben Goldhaber announced this week that he has joined game moderation tools company GGWP to help lead marketing efforts for the platform. Goldhaber joining the company follows GGWP’s announcement earlier this week that it will provide its AI-powered moderation tools platform for free to all game developers.
Goldhaber is best known as the Co-Founder & CEO and Juked, a community app for esports fans created alongside Co-Founder Chris Chan that managed to raise $2.2M USD in disclosed funding, but couldn’t find additional capital and was forced to shut down in October of 2022.
Besides co-founding and leading Juked as CEO, Goldhaber spent more than seven years at Amazon-owned streaming platform Twitch in various communications and marketing roles. Prior to that, he held similar communications roles at Games Cast TV (which he also co-founded), Santa Cruz Energy & Resources Collaborative, and Quake TV, among others.
Co-founded in 2020 by legendary professional gamer and serial entrepreneur Dennis “Thresh” Fong, Crunchyroll Co-Founder Kun Gao, and AI expert George Ng, GGWP is described as the “first anti-toxicity platform for games.” The company is working with several partners already including Riot Games, Sony, Krafton, and Bitkraft, although it is unclear what games are currently utilizing the platform to combat in-game toxicity.
GGWP raised $12M in March of 2022 in a seed funding round led by Bitkraft Ventures, with participation from content creator Pokimane, Riot Games, Twitch co-founders Emmett Shear and Kevin Lin, Makers Fund, Griffin Gaming partners, Sony Innovation Fund, YouTube founder Steve Chen, and Krafton CEO CH Kim. On Wednesday it announced an additional funding round of $10M led by Samsung Ventures and SK Telecom Ventures.
