Board game makers Glass Cannon Unplugged and Genuine Entertainment announced on May 17, the official launch of a crowdfunding campaign for its latest board game effort, Apex Legends: The Board Game. The board game, based on EA’s popular battle royale game. Developers were looking to raise $244,491 USD via this Kickstarter campaign.
On Wednesday, Glass Cannon Unplugged and Genuine Entertainment revealed that, with less than 24 hours left in the campaign, it has managed to raise $747,820 from more than 4,000 backers—though by the time you read this it could be substantially more.
Apex Legends: the Board Game is described as a tactical team vs team miniatures game for 2-4 players divided into two teams, facing off in a battle royale-style challenge played out in a 3D tabletop environment. Future expansions will add support for up to six players and even solo gameplay. Obviously the game will also feature select characters from the game, with additional characters added in future module releases.
