German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG announced on Wednesday that it signed a partnership deal with Chinese esports organization Jing Dong Gaming (JDG), becoming its exclusive airline partner for international esports tournaments.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
JDG and Bilibili Gaming (BLG) are currently competing in the current League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) in London from May 2-21. As the first seed of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) in MSI, JDG has entered the “Bracket” (Main) stage of the event alongside Gen.G Esports (Korea #1), MAD Lions (EMEA#1), Cloud9 (NA#1), and T1 Entertainment & Sports (Korea #2).
JDG is considered one of the best-performing LPL team this year; it is also the only LPL team that received a sponsorship deal from China’s largest dairy company Yili in February. Apart from Yili, JDG also has Intel, ROG, ASUS, Huya and its parent company Jing Dong as sponsors.
