Gillette announced Wednesday the return of the Gillette Cup featuring Fortnite. The two-day Fortnite gaming competition will feature a custom-built, independently created Fortnite Creative island.  Gillette made sure to emphasize in its announcement that this competition is not endorsed or sponsored by developer Epic Games

The 2023 Gillette Cup event will begin on June 1, and will see returning participants from the Gillette Gaming Alliance competing against the Fortnite community for a chance to win part of a $50K USD total prize pool. The competition will be played on a revamped version of the 2022 “Gillette Face-Off” island—those wishing to compete can use island code 6674-8139-7577 in Fortnite.

The tournament will start with a regional round featuring eight duos teams representing eight countries—Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, and USA/Canada. The top 16 teams from the regionals round will compete to advance to semi-finals, where they will be divided into two groups of eight duos. These 16 teams will continue to compete until the top four duos from each group advance to the finals. Duos will be scored using a points system and awarded cash prizes, based on ranking. The duo with the most points at the end of the competition series will be named winner of the Gillette Cup.

Gillette Gaming Alliance members participating include TypicalGamer (USA/Canada), Vicens (Spain), Agustin (Spain), Papaplatte (Germany), Rumathra (Germany), Elded (Mexico), Jolavanille (France), Pizfn (Italy), Xuider (Italy), Mongraal (United Kingdom), and Nobru (Brazil).

Fans can keep track of who is winning through the Gillette Cup leaderboard at www.GilletteCup.com, and also have a chance to win “exclusive Gillette Gaming gear and products,” according to a release.
