Vancouver-based digital media company Akshon Media announced Thursday that it has been named the official content production partner for the 2023 season of Activision Blizzard’s franchised esports leagues, the Overwatch League (OWL) and Call of Duty League.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Under the terms of this partnership, Akshon will help OWL with broadcast production support, graphic design, and production of select video content series. For CDL, Akshon will aid in match highlight videos, support broadcast production efforts, work on graphic design, and aid in the production of select video content series

The new partnership announced on Thursday is a continuation of the company’s relationship with Activision Blizzard—it helped support video production for both leagues during the 2022 season.

Founded in 2016, Akshon produces video content for a number of clients and brands including Red Bull, Vancouver-based interior design firm Ark & Mason, Overwolf, and British Columbia-based real estate development firm La Riviere. In the past it has worked with Toronto Defiant, BuzzFeed, T1 Entertainment & Sports, and TGS Esports, among others. It also operates an esports and gaming channel on YouTube called Akshon Esports, which currently has more than 300K subscribers.
