ESL FACEIT Group (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Savvy Games Group) announced that the Intel Extreme Masters will return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in April.
IEM Rio 2023 will run from April 17-23, and feature 16 of the top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams in the world competing for a piece of a $250K USD total prize pool, a win in the race to the Intel Grand Slam, and a spot in the IEM Cologne 2023 tournament.
The competition kicks off with the Group Stage on April 17 in which the participating teams will face off in two groups of eight, with the six best teams advancing to the live Playoff Stage on April 21-23. During the final three days, fans can watch the action live at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
Tickets for IEM Rio 2023 will go on sale March 6, at 12:00 BRT/16:00 CET at an online location to be announced.
Confirmed partner teams competing in IEM Rio 2023 include NAVI, FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, NIP, MOUZ Esports, and Fnatic. Other teams participating include FURIA, Heroic, Cloud9, Outsiders, OG Esports, 9ine, BIG, and IHC Esports.
